We would like to congratulate all of our 2007 CIM & MetSoc award recipients for their outstanding contributions to the profession and industry and setting the highest standards for the student and future members of our society. In addition to the recipients of this year’s awards and on the occasion of hosting Cu2007 MetSoc paid particular recognition to two towers of our society by naming two symposia in their honour: Drs John E. Dutrizac of CANMET and Carlos Díaz (formerly with Inco).

The awards presentation ceremony was chaired by our 2nd Vice-President Dr. Mahesh Chaturverdi of the University of Manitoba. We had the honour this year to have the CIM Fellowship Awards presented in person by the CIM President Mr. Jim Popowich.
