This symposium will discuss the multi-faceted technical and manufacturing issues related to the commercialization and rational use of nanomaterials aimed at opportunities for high volume production. The contributors to this conference will examine a number of key areas including the production of nano-precursors, manufacturing processes targeting large-scale structural and functional nanomaterials, characterization of the novel properties, modeling of processes and properties, nanostructured coating materials, environmental, health and safety issues related to handling nanomaterials. Contributors are encouraged to include case studies of successful nanomaterials developments, potential commercial exploitation and expected benefits for society. Topics included, but not limited to:

  • Fundamental issues concerning integration of nanomaterials in commercial products
  • Large-scale nanomaterials production
  • Characterization of nanomaterials’ properties
  • Modelling of processes and properties
  • Functional surfaces and nanostructured coatings
  • Novel nanomaterials
  • Nanomaterials safety issues.
