Vision
|
MetSoc is dedicated to expanding the professional horizons of its members
to better serve Canada’s Metals and Materials Industry.
This vision statement provides a picture of where the Metallurgical Society wishes to be
in the longer term. It represents the ultimate goal of the organization and serves as
the beacon of light in all that we do. In recognizing that MetSoc really exists to serve
its membership and with an eye toward the turn of the century, the vision truly stretches
the Society into the future.

Mission

The Mission statement reflects what the organization does by defining its purpose and mandate,
and recognizing appropriate boundaries. In support of our vision, the mission of MetSoc is:
To meet the needs of those involved in developing and applying technologies
for extraction, fabrication and utilization of metals and materials in Canada,
by providing quality services and value to the members through:
- Technical forum
- Publications
- Networking (business and technical)
- Linkages to other societies
- Student activities
- Continuing education
- Recognition of excellence
- Maintenance of infrastructure to support the metals and materials industry
- Provision of informed opinion and information to government and the general public
- Discussion of societal and ethical issues.
