Zinc and Lead Metallurgy
Technical Program schedule is subject to change. The International Symposium on Zinc and Lead Metallurgy aims to bring together experts from industry,
engineering firms and academia to discuss the latest developments in the metallurgical processing of zinc and lead.
The symposium, which will build on the success of the Zinc and Lead Processing meeting held 10 years ago in Canada,
as part of COM1998 in Calgary, will focus on the hydrometallurgy and pyrometallurgy of zinc and lead. PROCEEDINGS
The proceedings of the Zinc and Lead Metallurgy Symposium will be published in book and CD form and will be available at the meeting.
All papers will be refereed and edited prior to final acceptance and publication. SHORT COURSEThis Zinc and Lead Metallurgy short course will present an overview of the principles, process fundamentals, recent advances and industrial practices related to the extractive metallurgy and the refining of lead and zinc. The course content will complement the technical presentations given in the Zinc and Lead Metallurgy symposium, and will be presented by recognized leaders in this field. Short Course Topics and Instructors:
TECHNICAL TOURPost conference tours to major metallurgy facilities in Western Canada will be organized. The available tours will include one-day trips to the Teck Cominco zinc and lead smelting and refining complex at Trail, British Columbia, and the
zinc pressure leaching and electrowinning facilities of HudBay Minerals Inc. in Flin Flon, Manitoba. Sponsored by: The Non-Ferrous Pyrometallurgy
