As Chairman of COM 2009 it is my pleasure to invite you to Sudbury this August. This year’s Conference of Metallurgists, which is held in conjunction with Nickel & Cobalt 2009, will take
place in Sudbury, Ontario, Canada starting on August 23rd. This event will certainly offer something for delegates and companions alike. COM 2009 and
Nickel & Cobalt 2009 will be a
unique opportunity to explore technological, scientific and strategic trends. Among the numerous attendees, there will be industry executives, representatives of universities and
research institutes, design engineers, H.R. professionals, plant operators, and environmental experts from all over the world. The technical program will highlight the
7th UBC-McGill- UA Mineral Processing Symposium in honour of Prof. Jim Finch,
Applied Mineralogy, sessions on the
Hydrometallurgical or
Pyrometallurgical Processing of
Ni-Co-PGM Materials,
Process Control applications, Materials, Management Issues and
Green Technologies. We are pleased to also
be offering an exceptional selection of plenary and keynote speakers throughout the conference.
We are also hosting several high quality short courses prior to the conference as well as industrial tours after the technical sessions are completed.
The conference incorporates a Trade Show, along with several social events, in order to maximize your networking opportunities.
Students are especially encouraged to
participate as we will be hosting a Poster Session and a Student-Industry Mixer. Spouses are invited to attend as well; we will be offering separate tours to
Sudbury and
beautiful Manitoulin Island.
