This symposium will focus on environment-related subjects that are specifically connected to mining, mineral processing and metallurgical operations. A major objective of the symposium will be to recognize the significant contributions of biologists to remediation. Suggested topics for the symposium include:
- Traditional process oriented improvements in water, land and air quality
- Fuel use and climate change
- Biological and ecological effects and monitoring
- Community initiatives and cooperative programs
This list of topics is to provide general direction only, and any papers related to the overall theme of the symposium title would be welcomed. Sudbury is an excellent location to present papers with an environmental theme. The city has won numerous international awards for its efforts in the area of environmental rehabilitation. Join us to learn about these initiatives that improve the quality of our air, land and water.
