Symposium Description
Applied mineralogy and microscopy are extremely
valuable techniques that can be used to design plants,
optimize existing operations, or improve process
knowledge. This symposium will focus on how these
techniques have been used in mining and metallurgical
applications. We expect to cover a wide range of
analytical tools and procedures. Join us to learn more
about recent advances in these areas.
Topics of Interest:
How mineralogy can be used to design plants/flowsheets
Ore characterization case studies
Recent advances in mineralogical techniques
How mineralogy has been used to optimize plants, reduce costs or increase recoveries
Geometallurgy
Environmental applications.
Short Course
One and two-day short courses focusing on recent key
technological developments and current industrial
trends will be offered on the days immediately
preceding the conference. The subjects and names of
the lecturers will be announced in the near future.
Technical Tours
The participants will have the opportunity of visiting
some of the worlds most important metallurgical
processing operations after the conference.
Proceedings
The Proceedings of the for this symposium will be published in CD form and will be available at the meeting. Both the symposium and its proceedings will be in English. All papers will be refereed and edited prior to final
acceptance and publication.
