The symposium will feature the pyrometallurgical treatment of ores, concentrates and other materials. Papers will be presented on existing operations, projects in the pipeline, R & D initiatives, emerging technologies, laterite processing, PGM recovery and processing of sulphides. We are planning on a good balance between industrial and academic papers and are specifically promoting papers that relate to the upgrading of laterite ores. This will include an update on existing Ni-Co-PGM plants and a review of proposed projects. Tests conducted at the lab, pilot, or plant-scale are of high interest; this symposium will highlight literature about novel approaches taken to solve this difficult processing problem.

The Proceedings of Advances in the Processing of Nickel, Cobalt and PGMs Using Pyrometallurgical Techniques will be published in book form and will be available for sale at the meeting for $120. Both the symposium and its proceedings will be in English. All papers will be refereed and edited prior to final acceptance and publication.
