Symposium Description
This symposium focuses on how techniques such as Process Control, Simulation, or Modeling can be used to design, operate and optimize mining and metallurgical plants. Process control techniques are increasingly becoming an integral part of our industry, and the benefits are evident: increased productivity, increased efficiency and lower operating costs. Come learn about the latest advances in this area.
Topics of Interest
- Mathematical modeling used to design mining or metallurgical plants.
- Process simulation.
- Process control applications used to optimize mining and metallurgical circuits.
- Process automation and robotics, hard and soft sensors.
- System identification.
- Computerized material balancing.
- Fault diagnosis and fault tolerant control.
- Data mining, virtual reality, expert systems, neural networks, etc.
- Geometallurgical modeling.
- Theory and applications of advanced control strategies.
Short Course
One and two-day short courses focusing on recent key
technological developments and current industrial
trends will be offered on the days immediately
preceding the conference. The subjects and names of
the lecturers will be announced on the conference web
page.
Technical Tours
The participants will have the opportunity of visiting some of the
world’s most important metallurgical processing operations after the
conference. Details on these plant tours will be provided on the
conference web page.
Proceedings
The Proceedings of the Process Control Applications in Mining and Metallurgical Plants Symposium will be published in book and CD form and will be available at the meeting. Both the symposium and its proceedings will be in English. All papers will be refereed and edited prior to final
acceptance and publication.
