Celebrations

We would like to thank you for participating in our 50th celebrations of the Conference. We are excited that you will be part of these celebrations. In 1945, a small group of CIM members formed the Metallurgy Division to reflect the group`s technical interest. In 1967, we held our first annual Conference of Metallurgists!

Sharing Inspiration and Passion

We chose Sharing Inspiration & Passion as our theme for the 50th COM as without the passion for our industry and for our work, we would not be where we are today. As with passion, we want to inspire the next generation and ourselves to continuously strive for innovation and sustainability in our future.

Come and inspire others! We will be holding a Gala to honour the Past Presidents of this society and you will each receive a gift, our 50th anniversary Commemorative book.

Past Presidents

We could not celebrate the history of the 50th without thanking and honouring the past president’s of our society who have dedicate their volunteer time to make the society and the conference what it is today. Each President dedicates a minimum of 5 to 6 years consecutively as a volunteer on the board. The photo above represents only a fraction of the number of volunteers who served as Past President.
