International Symposium on the Treatment of Gold Ores
Chairmen: Guy Deschênes, David Koren, Bill Staunton
This symposium will provide an excellent forum for all players in the gold sector (industry, technology centers,
universities and consultants) to network and exchange information. It will cover the fundamentals and plant practices
for all aspects of gold processing as well as environmental issues. New technological developments will be addressed
as well as industrial success stories in all fields of gold processing. This event is being sponsored by MetSoc-CIM,
CMP-CIM and Natural Resources Canada's CANMET-MMSL, in recognition of the importance of international forums to
promote technology transfer and to bridge the gap between plant practice and research activities. Topics to be
covered include:
- Applied mineralogy
- Recovery of gold by gravity
- Leaching with cyanide and alternative lixiviants
- Recovery of gold (activated carbon, ion exchange, cementation and electrowinning)
- Refractory gold ores (roasting, pressure oxidation, bioleaching, ultra fine milling)
- Effluents treatment
