In order to better design and more competitively operate process plants in accordance with sound environmental principles, engineers, plant operators and researchers in the minerals and metals industry rely ever more extensively on computation. The computing power available has increased dramatically over the past decade.

The goal of this conference is to further the advancement of computation in hydrometallurgy by bringing together people from the hydrometallurgical industry, software suppliers, equipment suppliers, engineering firms, test laboratories and academia to share knowledge and exchange ideas. The major conference topics will include:
  • Mineralogical evaluation of ores
  • Modeling of physical phenomena
  • Modeling of chemical systems
  • Process modeling
  • Process control
  • Data reconciliation
  • Environmental modeling
  • Economic modeling
While the main focus will be on hydrometallurgy, appropriate contributions from other disciplines are welcomed; particularly those that present ideas or techniques that might be beneficially applied to the modeling and analysis of hydrometallurgical processes.

Prospective authors are encouraged to submit abstracts in all areas of computation in hydrometallurgy, with emphasis on, but not limited to, those topics listed above.
