The Sixth UBC-McGill-UA Symposium on Fundamentals of Mineral Processing: Interfacial Phenomena in Fine Particle Technology

The 6th UBC-McGill-UofA Biennial Symposium on Interfacial Phenomena in Fine Particle Technology will be held in conjunction with COM 2006 (the 45th Annual Conference of Metallurgists), Montréal, Québec, Canada from October 1 – 4, 2006. The 6th Symposium will focus on Interfacial Phenomena in Fine Particle Technology.The main topics will include:


  • Particulate systems in mineral processing
  • Suspensions, foams, froths
  • Ultrafine grinding
  • Dispersion/aggregation
  • Characterization of fine particle systems
  • Rheology of fine particle systems
  • Selective aggregation in mineral processing
  • Reagent interactions
  • Solid/liquid separation

DATE AND VENUE-The 6th UBC-McGill-UA Biennial symposium on Interfacial Phenomena in Fine Particle Technology will be held in conjunction with COM2006 (The 45th Conference of Metallurgists) from October 1 to 4 at the Centre Sheraton Hotel in Montréal, Québec, Canada. PROCEEDINGS-The proceedings of the Symposium will be published and will be available at the meeting. Both the symposium and its proceedings will be in English. All papers will be refereed and edited prior to final acceptance and publication.


SHORT COURSES-SURFACE CHEMISTRY OF DISPERSE SYSTEMS-A short course will be offered immediately before the symposium. A separate registration fee will be applied.
