Aluminium: from Raw Materials to Applications
(combining Light Metals 2006 and 17th ICSOBA Symposium)
Chairmen: Gilles Dufour and Peter Paschen
METSOC and ICSOBA (the International Committee for the Study of Bauxite,
Alumina and Aluminium) are proudly announcing the co-organization of "Aluminium: from
Raw Materials to Applications". This international symposium aims to bring together
plant operators, process engineers, materials scientists and researchers to discuss
the latest developments in all aspects of the production of alumina, aluminium reduction
technology, cast shop technology including the physical metallurgy and new applications of
aluminium and its alloys. It promises to be a unique meeting place for specialists from
around the word to exchange ideas and discuss all latest challenges and advances in
important issues such as cost reduction, productivity improvement, sustainability,
modelling, new alloys and many more. Sessions will cover among other topics:
- Bauxite and alumina
- Aluminium reduction technology
- Cast shop technology
- Wrought alloys
- Physical metallurgy of aluminium
- New processes for high value products.
