McMaster University Materials Engineering Club will be hosting from February 21st to 24th, 2008 the first Canadian Undergraduate Materials Students from all Canadian universities having a focus in materials engineering studies will be invited to the conference. The goal is to have each university to send a delegation of 5 students to the conference. Several speakers will address the student delegates on a range of topics to give a wide perspective of where a materials engineering degree can lead to. The delegates will also be asked to prepare a poster outlining industrial or academic experience. These posters will be on display at the career fair, at which sponsor organizations are invited to host their own booth. This fair will provide companies with the opportunity to network with some of the most promising Canadian Materials Engineering students.
The conference will also offer tours of nearby companies unique to the Ontario industrial landscape. This Conference should provide all delegates with the chance to see the many paths for materials engineering within our country.
