1. METSOC COMPETITIONS


1.1 BEST POSTER AWARD

Every year, the Conference of Metallurgists poster session provides students and delegates with the opportunity to display their work and make new contacts within their field. Student participants compete for cash prizes and possibly Metallurgical Society proceedings. If the poster session is held before the Awards Banquet, poster session winners will receive their awards at the Awards Banquet.

1.2 STUDENT CHAPTER OF THE YEAR COMPETITION

The Student Chapters of the Year contest recognizes Student Chapters for their programming efforts and level of member participation. Winning Chapters receive a cash award of $500 Cdn and a certificate.

2. METSOC & CIM SCHOLARSHIPS


MetSoc and CIM offer a number of scholarships for students.  MetSoc in particular has two scholarships : Doctoral and Masters Scholarship.  Click here for criteria and application form:

3. WAMIC SCHOLARSHIPS

The Women's Association of the Mining Industry of Canada has a number of awards and scholarships for either gender students studying in the field of mining/metallurgy.

Applications are solicited until June 4th.
