What is Virtual Tour?
This project consists of a web-based information centre for people interested
in an overview of the Canadian metallurgical industry. The web site
is in the form of a interactive plant tours with flow-sheets including
images and descriptions of the equipment involved. We intend to cover
mineral processing, extractive metallurgy, and forming processes for
various materials. The site is searchable (by process, metal, or unit
operation), easy to navigate, and fully linked to industry web sites.
Currently in its development phase, several Virtual Tours have been
placed online this summer, and are being presented at the Annual Conference
of Metallurgists in late August. We intend to add additional processes
in the future.
How can we get our process included?
Would your company be willing to submit technical information and images
for this endevour? In particular, we wish to provide photographs and
descriptions for each unit process in selected flowsheets. If you could
provide us with such information, we would very much appreciate it.
