Hydrochloric Acid Synthesis

The Magnola Process recovers hydrochloric acid as a byproduct of magnesium production. Chlorine gas, which is also produced during the electrolysis phase, is washed and combined with hydrogen thereby reconverted into acid, which will be re-used either at the beginning of the process in the leaching stage or reconverted into gas and re-used for the chorination process.
