Serpentine Preperation

The first stage of the Magnola Process involves preparation of the raw material. Mine tailings ("serpentine") are removed directly from asbestos mine tailings which have accumulated over the past 100 years. Already containing 24% magnesium (serpentine = Mg₃Si₂O₅ (OH)₄), these are crushed, dried and screened.
