Value Chain Series on Copper
Copper is the cornerstone in the electrification of the world’s technology. Its consistent supply is challenged by many factors, including geopolitics, supply chain, ESG, climate change, and mine and smelter availability. Much of global copper is concentrated in a limited number of countries. Thus, only a handful of countries account for the bulk of global mined copper. As well, smelting and refining facilities are similarly concentrated in a few (different) countries – many of the plants and related infrastructure are dated.
About the Value Chain Series
Presented by the Metallurgy and Materials Society of CIM (MetSoc) and the Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy, and Petroleum (CIM), the webinar workshop series explores the value chain of a single commodity. The audience will learn from experts in their fields about key issues that are needed to navigate the metals markets. The webinars, facilitated by Crux Investor, discuss the intersection of deposits, technology, and markets.
